Baby Kudu - March 2010

Baby kudu is growing up and at night time is now allowed to stay in the chicken pen with all the other animals.

Usually, Baby Kudu and Donkey spend their nights in the Food Prep room although recently it seems they’ve been having too much fun in there making a mess for the staff to clean up in the mornings! So they are now ready to venture outside and for the very first time tonight, will join the chickens, pigs and ostriches in their pen tonight. We’ll let you know how they get on in our next update!

Baby Kudu is becoming very adventurous and loves to explore the whole farm, wandering around far and wide and investigating every part of it. Which can be quite tricky when it comes to feeding time! The volunteers often spend lots of their time searching every bush and shed in the hope of finding Baby Kudu, bottle in hand, ready for feeding.

Luckily for us she wears a tracking collar as several times this week, we’ve had to get out the tracking equipment to find her! Armed with a great big aerial, it’s not unusual to see volunteers chasing after Baby Kudu whose been hiding behind a bush all the time.
