Mini, Toto and Mavis - March 2010

Despite Dara treating Toto like a human in the hope that he will become "one of us", he does in fact remain a sheep and in true sheep style, he has followed all his sheep friends to the other side of the farm.

He lives there with lots of sheep and goats so is in very good company and seems to enjoy his new home.

Mini and Mavis have stayed here on the main farm and continue to make their presence known by seeming to be everywhere at the same time! The pair are never still for very long and take an active interest in everything going on on the farm.

Their favourite time is feeding time – although not their own feeding time unfortunately! They cheekily munch away at other animals’ food – especially the fruit and mieliepap which is given to the chickens, pigs and ostriches. And they even try their luck with the volunteers’ lunches, frequently hiding under the table and poking their nose around their plates!

The curious goats have been sneaking into people’s rooms too! I had the dubious pleasure of having Mini jumping all over my bed the other day and quickly tried to shoo him off, which he did, only to then jump on all the other beds in the room!
